Comparison of the Number of Police and Population in 2025

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Metro Municipality released the latest data regarding the composition of the number of police and population in Metro Municipality based on the publication Metro Municipality In Figures 2025. This data provides an overview of the current capacity of security personnel in relation to population.

The total number of police officers in Metro Municipality is recorded at 266 people, divided into several levels of rank:

• Middle Officers: 5 people

• First Officer: 61 people

• High Non-Commissioned Officers: 180 people

• Non-commissioned officers: 20 people

Meanwhile, the population of Metro Municipality in the same year was recorded at 182,293 people, with the composition:

• Men: 91,701 people

• Women: 90,592 people

From this comparison, it is known that the ratio between the number of police and the population is around 1:400, which means that one police officer is tasked with serving and maintaining the security of around 400 residents.

This information is important as material for analysis and evaluation of the condition of human resources in the security sector in Metro Municipality. Apart from that, this data can be a reference for relevant agencies in preparing plans, policies and developing the capacity of security apparatus in the future.
